Course: Starting and finishing at Kielder castle, the initial loop heads out along a fast forest trail before picking up a single track section towards Ravenshill. The trail climbs gradually with superb views across the whole valley. A fast runable descent leads to the secluded Archer Cleugh burn, then from here return back to Kielder Castle which is just over half way on the course at this point.

This follows through Viaduct Wood alongside the river North Tyne, leading onto a loop which initially crosses underneath then across the historical Kielder Viaduct. Enjoy the spectacular views across Bakethin Nature reserve as you cross the viaduct (10km point) & follow the course of the old railway line. This leads onto a section of the Lakeside way multi-user trail to reach Bakethin Weir.
