Glentress Forest is described as the 'Gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park'. Perhaps more renowned for its mountain biking, Glentress also offers a superb array of forest trails, making it a fantastic location for trail running. The area features mile upon mile of waymarked trails including forest walks & superb woodland singletrack.
In the dark the forest takes on a whole new appearance. This 10k route is held on the same course as our popular February 10k (daytime) race. This is a fantastic course whether you're goal is to blast along at the front or your first night trail race.
The route will be fully marked with reflective signage so no navigation experience is necessary.

"I'm just back home from this race, and still buzzing. Thank you SO much for running this event - it was tremendous fun, and a completely different different experience from any other race I've done. Seeing the procession of head torches ahead of (and behind!) me in the early stages was great. Taking the opportunity to turn off my headtorch for a few seconds to run along a woodland track under nothing but starlight was just awesome. Please pass on my thanks to the organisers and particularly to the marshalls, who were tireless in their much appreciated encouragement. Thanks again - definitely in my 'to do' list for next year" Gavin Whittaker.

Clare Higgins It was BRILLIANT!! Had such a fab time, super course and lovely marshals and organisers. Thank you
Alister Stewart Great event. Was buzzing all the way home. Well done High Terrain Events.

Can I say once again THANKS to ALL of your team for Glentresss Night Race. It was a great run Michael Bunn
Fantastic race, thank you for organising it & especially to the marshals, hope they didn't take too long to thaw out

The Glentress night trail race is open to all abilities of runners. You will be tackling some of the amazing trails that Glentress Forest has to offer including single track, open forest tracks and possibly a 'bit' of mud & snow! All runners must run with a head torch and suitable trail shoes are essential.

Following non-technical forest roads and singletrack, the route features sections of the waymarked walking trails including the Glen Trail alongside Glentress Burn, linking in with Buzzard’s Nest Trail, which winds through the magnificent Douglas firs. Then it's onto the Time Trail which passes the fortified iron age settlements. A short section on the Tower Trail links the route back onto the Buzzard’s Nest Trail to finish with an exhillirating descent to the finish.
Terrain: A great combination consisting mainly of firm gravel trails & woodland singletrack. Some uneven sections of grass with exposed tree roots. Long moderate slopes with some steeper sections.
