Open to Individuals and relay teams of three

 

  • 1.5k Open Water Swim

  • 40k Road Cycle - an undulating route amidst Spectacular Forest  Scenery

  • 10k Lakeshore Trail Run

 

The event is to be held in conjunction with the Kielder Off Road Triathlon which is scheduled for Saturday 17th June.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Start Time: 9.00am

 

Relay Category: For those who want to complete the challenge as a team, there is also a relay category open to teams of three. Each person competes in one discipline, for the swim, the cycle and the run. This is open for male, female & mixed teams - ideal for specialist swimmer/cyclists/runners or beginners, who would like to test themselves over a single discipline. 

 

Venue: Leaplish Waterside Park, Kielder, Northumberland, NE48 1BT. (Getting to Kielder

 

The event will be based from stunning setting of Leaplish Water Park on the shores of Kielder Water. Offering panoramic views of the reservoir, this is the ideal venue with event HQ, start/finish, transitions, accommodation and restaurant all situated at the one location.

 

Registration: Event registration and briefing will be on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June.

 

Course:

1.5km Swim: Open water swim in Kielder Water, Europe's largest man made lake.

10km Trail Run: The run will be off road (non technical) following an out & back the shoreline of Kielder Water, taking in Bull Crag Peninsula.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Accommodation:There is an abundance of accommodation options in an around the area.ranging from camping to luxury lodges. Leaplish itself has excellent accommodation facilities, including luxury woodland Scandinavian style self catering lodges and a caravan site suitable for both touring caravans and motor homes. The park also offers a wide range of activities so is ideal for a full weekend with the family. Kielder also has a family friendly camp site, details HERE

 

Facilities/Included: Professionally run event, qualified & experienced personel at various checkpoints, qualified medical support, online registration, fully marked route, commemorative race neckwear and unique finishers medal, refreshments at finish, hydration & feed stations on the course, on site catering, on site accommodation, event photography, free event parking, changing & showers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Entries: minimum entry age 18 years old. The event will be run under current British Triathlon rules.

 

Entry Fees

Solo:

£45 non British Triathlon members

£40 for British Triathlon members

 

Relay:

£60 per team of three non British Triathlon members

(£5 discount per BTF member)

40km Road Cycle: A superb route through the rugged border country. There are no major climbs although it is an undulating/hilly course. This whole route takes in some breath-taking views of Kielder Water & the Border country and the quiet roads have excellent riding surfaces.
